Several Hundred Educational Booklets Distributed as Families, Community Leaders and Pasadena Police Unite to Promote a Drug-Free Lifestyle
PASADENA, CA, May 27, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Foundation for a Drug-Free World participated in the La Pintoresca Park Family Fun Day on May 23, 2026, bringing drug prevention education and community awareness to families throughout Pasadena during the event.
Hosted at La Pintoresca Park, the community celebration featured educational outreach centered on The Truth About Drugs, a series of fifteen illustrated prevention booklets containing facts about some of the most commonly abused drugs.
Adults and children signed the pledge to live a drug-free life, including Pasadena Chief of Police Eugene Harris and event coordinator Elizabeth Luna, Recreation Coordinator of the La Pintoresca Teen Education Center.
Community leaders and organizers emphasized the importance of early education and prevention in helping young people make informed decisions about drug use.
Pasadena Councillmember for District One, Tyron Hampton also praised the initiative and the importance of educating youth about the dangers of drugs.
“Educating children about drug use is essential in fostering a healthier future,” Hampton said. “Knowledge empowers them to make informed choices and resist harmful influences. Through awareness, we can cultivate resilience and understanding, ensuring they grow up equipped to navigate life’s challenges safely.”
