The event brings Hispanic Heritage Month and National Sickle Cell Awareness Month together to advance education, health equity, advocacy, and access to care
GLENDALE, CA, August 17, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — Join us in commemorating two significant months with a blend of impactful programming, deep community connections, and shared momentum for change. We are thrilled to acknowledge the vital role of our sponsors in bringing these celebrations to life, starting with our headline supporters. Cayenne Wellness Center proudly recognizes the invaluable contribution of our key sponsors as we gear up for upcoming events honoring National Sickle Cell Awareness Month and Hispanic Heritage Month. Beam Therapeutics, Inc. stands tall as a GOLD sponsor, while Chiesi USA, Inc. and Global Rare Diseases graciously serve as our SILVER sponsors for the Hispanic Heritage Summit on September 15 to 16, 2026, at the Marriott Long Beach Downtown in Long Beach, California.
Event Details:
Dates: September 15–16, 2026
Location: Long Beach, CA & Online
Target Audience: Designed for healthcare professionals, educators, social workers, students, Hispanic and Latino individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease, and members of the broader community.
The two-day educational summit aims to unite sickle cell warriors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, advocates, community leaders, organizations, and families to shed light on sickle cell disease. It will also specifically address the unique experiences and challenges faced by Hispanic and Latino individuals and families affected by the condition.
The summit will feature culturally relevant education, community voices, advocacy, and dialogue focused on improving awareness, health equity, and access to quality sickle cell care.
The timing of this year’s summit carries special significance. September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month, a time dedicated to increasing understanding of sickle cell disease and elevating the voices and experiences of those living with the condition. The summit also begins on September 15, the opening of Hispanic Heritage Month, creating a timely opportunity to bring greater visibility to the intersection of culture, health, identity, and sickle cell disease.
Programming will explore the relationship between country of origin, genetic background, and community-centered sickle cell education, while providing practical tools to help warriors advocate for themselves and navigate sickle cell disease, comorbidities, and related health concerns.
A central part of the summit will be the inclusion of lived experience. A warrior-led roundtable will create space for individuals living with sickle cell disease to share their perspectives and experiences directly with attendees. The program will also address the important transition from pediatric to adult care, and feature breakout discussions focused on men’s health and sickle cell disease, women’s health and sickle cell disease, international sickle cell warriors, and domestic and international providers and caregivers.
Beyond the educational sessions, the summit is designed to strengthen relationships across the sickle cell community. Vendor and exhibitor tables are available for community-based organizations, businesses, healthcare organizations, authors, artists, educational institutions, industry partners, and others interested in sharing resources and connecting directly with summit participants.
Through education, storytelling, advocacy, resource-sharing, and community connection, Cayenne Wellness Center’s Hispanic Heritage Month Educational Summit aims to expand awareness of sickle cell disease within Hispanic and Latino communities and strengthen pathways to culturally responsive information, resources, support, and care.
