The Denver Outlaws (9-4) advance to the MLL playoffs for the 11th time in their 12 years of existence. Only other MLL team to accomplish this goal is the Boston Cannons which is a founding team of the MLL. The game was certainly a hard fought battle all around and was to the wire the entire time. Certainly gave the 9,000 plus fans in attendance something to enjoy! It was the camp day so there were thousands of kids at the game and diehard Outlaw fans at Sports Authority Field.
Our favorite part of the day was seeing Make-A-Wish kid Ezekiel Brown interact with the players and fans. The Denver Outlaws and Warrior Lacrosse granted a young Outlaws fan’s Make-A-Wish to become a Warrior Lacrosse pro. Ezekiel received a head-to-toe equipment by Warrior and a custom Outlaws jersey. Ezekiel was on the sidelines the entire game and even signed autographs for fans after the OT win!
The unsung hero of the game was without a doubt netminder Jack Kelly he saved 24 of 35 shots for a .685 save percentage. The Outlaws Defensive also limited Bayhawks player/MLL super star Myles Jones to just one goal and no assists. Attackmen and hometown hero Eric Law
scored the overtime game-winner with an assist from Ryan Ambler and finished the game with four points. Midfielders Romar Dennis and Wes Berg each netted hat tricks while midfielder Zach Currier recorded three points
“Our goal as an organization remains the same each season—win the MLL Championship,” Senior Director of Team/Business Operations Ted Tseng said. “Qualifying for the playoffs is the first step towards that objective and we are certainly excited to host a playoff game in Denver in front of our great fans.”
