Family-founded cannabis company expands with a grand opening celebration featuring live music, gift bags for the first 200 customers, and daylong savings
PONTIAC, MI, May 12, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — Quality Roots will host its grand opening for its newest recreational cannabis dispensary at 41 Walton Boulevard in Pontiac on Friday, May 15. Doors open at 9 a.m. The Pontiac dispensary is the company’s 10th overall and its ninth in Michigan, extending the family-founded brand’s footprint.
The grand opening comes at a time when Pontiac has few cannabis retail options despite strong demand from surrounding communities. Quality Roots’ new store will serve customers from Auburn Hills, Clarkston, Lake Orion, Rochester Hills, Sylvan Lake, Keego Harbor, and White Lake, with no other dispensary nearby until Lake Orion to the north and east.
“Pontiac is exactly the kind of community we started this company for,” said Miranda Wilber, Marketing Manager at Quality Roots. “There’s real demand here from people who have been driving 20 or 30 minutes to shop somewhere else. Now they have a neighborhood dispensary with a full menu, a team that knows the product, and prices that don’t punish you for shopping locally.”
Grand Opening Event
The celebration runs from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. with live music from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The store will offer 30% off all products throughout the day, along with additional one-day-only offers to be announced leading up to May 15.
The first 200 customers will receive a gift bag valued at more than $75, stocked with a curated selection of pre-rolls, gummies, and a vape cartridge from Michigan cannabis producers. The first 70 customers who spend $60 or more will also take home a complimentary 1oz Yeti Shake. QClub loyalty members spending $25 or more receive two free grams, and those spending $50 or more earn double loyalty points for the day. Customers who spend $100 or more can spin for prizes including gift cards, free products, and exclusive Quality Roots merchandise.
Gift bags feature products from brands including Wyld, Mother Puckers, Michigrown, Fresh Canna, Cali-Blaze, Hytek, Smokiez, MKX, Mitten Extracts, ProGro, and Seed Junky, among others.
Why Pontiac
Quality Roots has built its business by opening in communities where it can fill a gap, not just add to a crowded field. The Pontiac location at 41 Walton Boulevard sits in a part of Oakland County that has been underserved by licensed cannabis retail. The store carries more than 200 products across flower, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates, vapes, topicals, CBD, and accessories, with daily deals and a loyalty rewards program from day one.
The new location will operate 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, seven days a week, serving adults 21 and older. No medical card is required.
Brand Partners
Michigan-based and national cannabis brands featured at the grand opening include Wyld, Peninsula, Hytek, Tip Top, Cali-Blaze, Mitten Extracts, and Stickee.
