SURAT: Surat railroad station is on course to turn into the first in the country to experience change under the redevelopment strategy for stations as declared by railway minister Suresh Prabhu in the announcement of estimated receipts and use for 2015-16 for Indian Railways displayed by him in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
The re-improvement of Surat rail line station would happen on 2.27 lakh square meter of area close to the station fitting in with the Indian Railways, Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) and Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC). A unique reason vehicle (SPV) is prone to be framed by them for the Rs 5,000 crore venture.
“The capital investment would originate from a private party. It would be chosen through an open bidding process. The private accomplice would get the advantages over an amazed period of time,” city magistrate Milind Torwane said.
